A Free Website Builder Without Ads on Your Site

A free website builder that puts no ads, no banners and no badges on your pages — the site is part of the product, not the bait.

There's a particular kind of embarrassment in sending a customer to your own website and watching them scroll past a strip that says Made with —— · Get your free site today.

It's small. It's also the only thing on the page that isn't about you. Somebody looking up a plumber at half past nine on a Tuesday doesn't consciously think "this business didn't pay for their site" — but the impression lands anyway, in the same part of the brain that reads a laminated menu differently from a printed one.

Worse are the free tiers that run actual adverts. Your services page, someone else's banner, chosen by an ad network that has never heard of you and might cheerfully place a competitor there.

Why the free ones do it

Not because they're villains. Because the website is their product, and a product has to be paid for. If you're not paying, the page has to earn its keep some other way — an advert, a badge that recruits your visitors, or a wall in front of the feature you were always going to need.

That's the logic, and it's sound. It just isn't the only logic available.

Why Blinko doesn't have to

For Blinko the website isn't the product. It's one of the things a Blinko business gets, alongside the QR loyalty, the payments and the Automations. Blinko makes its money from businesses that grow into paid plans for capacity and connected Automations — so a site that quietly advertised somebody else, or nagged your customers into signing up, would be working against the thing we actually sell.

Which means we can say the plain version: no adverts on your pages, no banner across the bottom, no badge in the footer. The page is your business and nothing else. It stays that way on the free plan, because there is no version of the plan where it doesn't.

There's no upgrade wall in the middle of it either. The contact form isn't a paid feature. The address at yourname.blinkolocal.com isn't a paid feature. Hosting isn't a paid feature.

The other thing free builders don't hand you

Even the honest free tiers give you a blank canvas, a template gallery and a drag-and-drop editor — and then the build is your job. That's the real cost, and it's why so many businesses have a half-finished site from two summers ago rather than no site at all.

On Blinko you don't build it. You describe the business to Blinko Copilot in a short conversation — what you do, who for, what someone should know before ringing — and it drafts the site. The questions are skippable and mostly prefilled from your Blinko profile. Editing works the same way afterwards: say what you want changed, look at it, approve it. Nothing goes live without your approval, and one-click rollback undoes anything you regret.

Sites run to ten pages, which for a local business is usually more than gets filled. Your hours, phone and address you never edit at all — they sync from your profile, so the site can't drift out of date behind a login you've forgotten.

The fine print, stated rather than hidden

Free means free, so the honest terms are worth putting in daylight:

  • Building, editing and hosting cost nothing on any plan, the free one included.
  • Publishing unlocks when your business is set up: your profile complete, a sign-in from the Blinko Business app, and your first followers. Not a payment — a real business behind the page.
  • Ten pages per site. A real limit, not a soft one.
  • Your address is yourname.blinkolocal.com. Own a domain already and want to point it here? That's a conversation with us, not a self-serve toggle.

What is on your pages instead of adverts

The useful stuff. A quote or booking form that sends enquiries straight to your leads inbox with a push alert on your phone. A sitemap, canonical tags and LocalBusiness schema typed to your trade, so search engines can tell a salon from a garage.

And cookie-free analytics, which is a small thing with a visible consequence: you get counts of what people looked at without following anyone around the internet, and your visitors don't hit a consent pop-up on the way to your contact form.

No banner. No badge. Nobody else's advert on a page with your name at the top of it.
