The Group Trip Planning App That Lives in One Chat

In Blinko Spots, a trip is a group — private, up to 32 of you, and everyone in it is someone you're actually friends with. Friendship on Blinko happens by scanning each other's QR codes in person, so a trip group is, by construction, people who have stood in the same room. The itinerary is made of cards

Here's the mechanical difference. When the chat agrees on something — dinner at the fish place on Friday, the hike on Saturday morning — you turn it into a Plan right there. It becomes a card in the conversation with a time, a place, and RSVP buttons on it.

That last part matters more than it sounds. "Who's actually coming to the early hike?" is a question that normally gets asked four times and answered vaguely. On a Plan card, it's just visible. Seven going, two maybes, one honest no. The card is the answer, and it stays pinned to the conversation where the decision happened, instead of dissolving into scrollback.

Who brings what

Every trip has a cargo problem. Someone owns the speaker, someone owns the corkscrew, and someone was definitely bringing the cards. In most groups this is administered by memory and resentment.

In the trip group, it's a shared list — one card in the same thread, showing 4 of 9 and counting as people tick things off. Who brings what. The food-stop wishlist for the drive down. The shopping run on the first morning. Anyone can add to it, anyone can tick, and everyone sees the same state. Nobody arrives with three corkscrews and no cards.

And the places themselves — the taverna someone found, the viewpoint from someone's last visit — get shared into the thread as spots. Actual pins on an actual map, not screenshots of maps. When you're standing in the town square arguing about lunch, the shortlist is already there.

Time zones, handled honestly

The quiet killer of long-distance trips: "we land at 6" — whose six? The group planning a Lisbon week from London, Berlin and New York is doing constant silent arithmetic, and someone always does it wrong.

Blinko sidesteps the arithmetic. Every Plan shows its time in the viewer's own time zone, with a line underneath showing the time at the destination. Your friend in New York sees the welcome dinner in her hours; the card also says what the clock will say in Lisbon. Same card, no conversion, nobody turning up an hour into dessert.

The one who won't install anything

There's one in every crew. For them, a Plan has a link that opens in the browser — the what, the when, the where, and an RSVP that takes about eight seconds, no app, no account. They stay in the loop; you stop being their secretary.
