How Collections work in Blinko

Collections group the Spots you have captured — by trip, by mood, by whatever you will actually search for later. How to make one, how to add to it, and when a Collection beats a Trip.

A Spot is one thing you captured. A Collection is the box you put it in. Your Spots live on the Explore tab, and everything you build on top of them — Trips, Collections, Plans — is made out of those Spots.

There are two ways in. Long-press a Spot card and choose Add to Collection, or open the Spot and use the ⋯ menu, which offers Add to Collection alongside Keep as Memory, Add to Trip, Plan this and Share.

Name a Collection for the moment you will be in when you need it — "Sunday breakfast", "when my parents visit", "worth the drive" — rather than for the category of thing inside it. You will search your memory the same way.

Collection or Trip? A Collection is a group with no order and no date: places that belong together. A Trip is a sequence you intend to move through, with stops in the order you set. If you would not walk it end to end, it is a Collection.

Keep Collections few and broad enough to remember. Add the Spot when you capture it rather than tidying up later. Let a Collection graduate into a Trip when a real day out forms around it.

Never lose a moment
