How to collect donations from your community members

The Collect Payment (Any Value) automation puts a Donate Now button in every member's app — they pick the amount, the receipt lands in your DMs, and the funds land in your linked account.

The pain: community organizations run on goodwill, but collecting on that goodwill is clumsy — cash boxes at events, payment-app handles read aloud, donation links buried in emails. The moment someone feels moved to give and the moment they actually can are usually far apart, and generosity cools fast.

The Blinko way: the Collect Payment (Any Value) automation puts a giving button in front of every member, with the amount left to them.

Picture a youth soccer club raising money for new uniforms: the coordinator configures "New uniforms for the spring season" with a few suggested amounts, sets the label to Donate Now, and broadcasts it to every family with a photo of the team. Parents give in two taps from the sideline; every donation posts a receipt and a name to the club's DMs, so thank-yous are easy and the tally is live. No cash box, no chasing.

The other two doors work the same way as every automation: send it to one member in a DM — someone asks "how can I help?" and the answer is a button in your reply — or let the always-on spot button quietly collect from members whenever the impulse strikes (see "Blinko DM: direct messaging between your business and customers" and "Blinko Local app: the Engage tab"). And because the giver picks the amount, the same mechanism serves any name-your-price moment — a tip jar, a pay-what-you-can workshop.

Requires your payment account linked to your Blinko account (see "Payments: connect and request payments"). The payments family, so you pick the right tool: Collect Payment (Fixed) = a known amount from many customers; Collect Payment (Any Value) = the giver chooses the amount; an invoice = one customer’s itemized bill; the payment QR = paying in person.
